Freshman, Jake Hagerbaumer, has started his high school golf career better than most. As his season is coming to an end, he’s been doing better than ever.
“I wanted to place in one meet and make it to state. So far, I’ve done one of those many times this year,” said Hagerbaumer.
Having those goals in mind made it possible for Hagerbaumer to place fifth, sixth, tenth, and eleventh overall. He’s also placed second in his team three times, first in his team five times, and eighth at conference.
“His skill set is very advanced,” said golf coach Mr. Krivohlavek.
Golfing with his brother, Alex, has helped Hagerbaumer learn to putt. It’s also pushed them to make each other better.
“We compete a lot… and I always kick his butt,” said Hagerbaumer with a smirk.
Krivohlavek believes that Hagerbaumer may be one of the better golfers Logan View has had.
He also added, “I think Jake’s pretty determined and loves golf, but he’s very committed to it. He could probably end up being a state qualifier some time, maybe even this year.”
